How Wimpy Can You Get?

I have tried that whey protein religiously once as a teen and once later in life when working out. The results both times: my body measurements shrank a slight bit (chest, arms, etc) and my waist increased a small bit.

At the 21 week live-on California Highway Patrol Academy, I went back for "seconds" at dinner time almost every evening and my body fat percentage (measured roughly with calipers that pinch here and there) actually went up a little as the course advanced. I was 6'1" and about 170 pounds at the time and 30 years old.

For me, muscle "growth" or "bulking up" was basically never achieved under any conditions or diet.
