all I have to say is when buying an old car dont trust anyone about its history

Back in the early 80's, a car dealership in my hometown was caught rolling odometers back.
Best I remember, they had received a jeep on trade in. It was setting outside over night.
Late at night, a local state trooper, who was on patrol, drove through the lot. He was interested in a jeep, so he stopped to check it out. He thought it was pretty nice, but had high mileage.
A few days later, he got to thinking, even with the high mileage, he may consider it, if the price was right.
Going back to the dealership, he discovered that the jeep now had way less mileage......
People went to jail over this, and IMO should.
