I almost went with that also but then read that the edelbrock ports were closer to my 318 tiny intake ports. I think it was because it was easier for me to use the felpro 1243 gaskets that were 2.08x 1.05.

I was worried about my small ports until I read this thread, now i have work to do lol and want the better of the 2 intakes.

I did gasket match the intake but did not remove the heads and do those ( I wanted to but was worried I might screw them up) now I know What to do and its no big deal by the looks of it.

I just pulled the Weiand off for the offenhauser that that's going on. I did a intake test on the factory cast vs holley SD vs Action Plus to see what it would do on a very mild 318. Now the dual quad gets a shot.
I personally like the Action plus better than the edelbrock performer. Just my opinion. Don't worry about the small ports. I've run factory cast intakes which have the 340/360 port on 318 heads all the time. Not a big deal. Perfect port match is ideal, of course. But just for the say'n, the 340 factory cast intake with biggest ports actually gave the best ET, even the the Holley SD had 318 size ports, and the Action Plus is "in between". All 3 intakes were within a .15, though
