the full grove provides 360 rod feed without "cross drilling" the crank
Lots of improvement in oiling theory since the BBM and SBM were desighned

some claim improper cross drilling starves the rods due to centrifugual force
me I'd check out how the LS or 3rd gen hemi or other late engines do it
