DC tac hook up..?..

-
here's someone else seeking to convert a tach drive signal to a electronic tach.
A DC one would be the obvious first choice but other "tach drive pulse signal generator" will probably work.

Assuming you enjoy a good hunt, this one looks doable. View attachment 1715454450
That looks something like what I may need but it also has more than two wires?..

Speedometer Tachometer Generator Sender. if this could help you...here is the link.

Looks to me like the 4286644 does conventional wiring. 4286609 needs the sender.

Longshot......
These folks have been around forever selling DC & MP parts. May or may not be worth a call.

Well I gave these guys a call and of course they didn't have nothing, but they also said the guy that runs the place took off yesterday on vacation and I need to call in another week because he really knows his Mopar stuff...

First off you're the only one on the Forum that buy stuff at the advice of yellow rose LOL... second I've been to that swap meet and it's probably one of the smallest ones that there is in some little building over in Washington... Maybe two or three booths with Mopar stuff...lol... I may have a better chance at the beginning of April at the big swap meet where there's 10000 booths.. but then I'm looking for the literal needle in a haystack LOL... It's not a matter of the money unless it's just ridiculous... I'm not paying $800 for a distributor...
That's because your closed minded and can't see the value of a $1000.00 carb:rofl:

And for the record YOU are the only one that can't get over a situration with YR, thats been going on for over 2 years!!!!!!
Every on else has got over it and moved on. Just saying....................

Just how much whining do We have to endure when YR, yet again, has a "family problem" and doesn't show up yet again.:realcrazy:

YR has a lot more live experience that you will never understand, just because of your grudge with him.

I disagree with absolutely everything you said except the fact that you have $1,000 carburetor....
I took his advice plenty of times except for when it cost money...
Just like he says it's worth the amount you paid for it...
I haven't mentioned anything about any race??..
This is about the DC tachometer? Can we keep it on that?...

So I took the 5/16 nuts off the back and basically nothing LOL the inner guts seem to fall forward a little and the post sinked in a little bit but I turn it upside right and they poke out it just moves the inner guts but I don't really see how there's any way of getting into it.. it kind of looks like permanently sealed or something as the front is kind of crimped around...

IMG_20200118_100630.jpg
I almost think it would have to be uncrimped around the front is about the only way I can see getting into it. Of course I'm not in the school of effing it up like I said...

Well, there are a couple of tach drive distributors reasonably priced on ebay........

YOU started the derail!
YR has already said that you could find one at the swap meet your going to.
Do you think they are going to get any cheaper if you wait?....................
Your not willing to sell what you got. So, you will have to buck up, and pay what it take, to make your dream come true.
Or have half of the puzzle gleaning in your display.

Remember one man's junk in another man's pride and joy. You just need to find it, in another man's junk........

And since you Have to have the last word..........YOu will send this thread off track too!!!

It's real easy, you just ignore my comments..........if you think i'm purposely jacking up your thead..........And it goes right back on track.......Ease Pessy.

I wonder if there is any type of electronic signal converter that would let you use your regular distributor?
Maybe ask in the Electrical and Ignition section. Lots of smart people on here, surely somebody knows if it is possible.

LOL. I find stuff there every year I go. You just don't know what to look for.

BTW, are we going for cheeseburgers after the swap meet???

I know what to look for.. remember posted the picture of the distributor on page 2...
I figure there should be a secret code word so you know it's me???...

I don't think I've ever bought anything off of eBay and I only seem to pull it up by accident... I don't have any PayPal accounts or anyting..

don't worry everybody will read around your derailment I don't have to ignore you and you don't want to be ignored or you wouldn't be saying anyting...
I know you want to be part of this cool conversation about this cool tachometer so why don't you try and add something...

I'm thinking it's 609 model if there is no way to change cylinder settings.
Not that I recommend it, opening it up may be sorta like....
URL="Are these Mopar performance gauges still available anywhere"]Are these Mopar performance gauges still available anywhere[/URL]
This is what I'm afraid of... well not afraid but I don't want to screw anything up or get it gouged up... how many times can that thin aluminum been back and forth and still be nice? Also it would be needing some kind of repaint as I imagine it would flake off..

so why don't you try and add something...

That one on EBay looks nice and less than 200 bucks look like a deal.
But buying at a swap meet is a much better deal. because you can look at it.

These dist are ancient, and the biggest worry, for me, would be the tach drive.
It has to be some kind of a worm gear attached to the shaft. I would be looking for excessive play in that area.

And for the Record. I didn't buy a 1000 dollar carb. And all the parts i replaced. to find the problem, was nowhere near a 1000 dollars and i now own two carbs.:icon_fU:

Yes actually this is something that I was kind of hoping for... But of course hope in one hand....
