Not too long ago my trunk lock broke like that and the little flat arm between the lock cylinder and latch fell out.
Looking closer at it I found the tiny roll pin that holds the flat arm in the lock cylinder had fallen out.
I was able to make a new pin with a finish nail and put it back together.
Betcha the arm off yours in laying down in the bottom of that brace.
