I am in the process instilling the windshield wiper assembly in my '67 barracuda and while testing the speed and park functions I discovered that it parks in the up or vertical position. The wiper motor is a newer '73 b-body that has been re-clocked to the right position for an a-body unit and the arm is part#3431618. Everything works fine except it parks strait up. The arm only goes on one way. I found an other thread about this problem but the info is not to clear on how to properly assemble it right.
Wiper motor parking up?

Just not sure what I am doing wrong,

The problem is in the park mechanism which is in the motor. Either it is broken or you have the wrong motor. Have never heard of "re-clocking" these.

I've heard but never seen them reclocked. Your switch has to match your wiper motor. Is that the case? 2spd.motor 2spd switch. 3spd/3spd
Have you got another thread on wipers going?

The car has a variable speed switch. But have only tested it with jumpers as described on Passion4mopars. The cover can be rechecked for A-B-C-E-F bodies. There is a number of threads regarding that conversion.

The arm is for use with a 3 speed a-body.

I don’t have a clue what I did right, but’s fixed. Only had to pull the cover off about a dozen times!

It could have been much worse. I once witnessed the wipers go down instead of up at switch on. Fresh yellow paint on AMC Hornet hood ruined.
