not a mopar this time. needed a change up.. these G-body cars are getting hard to find in good shape and rising in price so i wanted to get one before they got out of reach. i've been casually looking for a grand prix or cutlass for a little bit and finally found a good one at a good price so i grabbed it... nothing special just a 86 cutlass supreme with a 307 V8 in it and 2.14 gears..lol

the car runs very well, is very clean. lower doors are rusty which is common on them but thats it for rust. i drove it an hour home and man is that bench seat comfortable and it cruises along so easily at 75-80mph....

immediate plans for it are to buff it out, clean the int up, put a set of rims and tires on it and buy a 442 style cat back exhaust on it and drive it hell out of it.. i won't feel bad cruising to the shore and leaving this in a parking lot. always worries me leaving the dart in a parking lot where cars are parked tight...

down the road plans... i'd like to put a UMI "power tour" suspension kit on it which will also lower it 2". would also like to put an OD trans init...

way down the road plans would be to put LS power in it.. :)

its amazing what you can buy for these damn cars. can build just about the entire thing from a catalog..

i can't spend too much time and money on this one yet. Lil Red is still priority. that has to be on the road this year....

Wow, that's a clean Olds and it even has a Olds engine in it. LOL I spent my late 20's and 30's in the Buick dealer starting with the 78 models. They were a quality challenge when the metric bodies first came out but they got much better as time went on. These are still fairly easy to work on under the hood. 10 min. blower motor change, accessable alternator and ac compressor etc. Congrats.

With that gear ratio, do you need an OD tranny??? Looks pretty clean and a good driver!

Cale Yarbarough ..... Yeeee-Haaaaawww ! :)

Always liked the G bodies myself. Almost pulled the trigger a couple times on one.

i wonder if there is a set of aftermarket bumpers that would bring them about a foot closer to the body?
i think that would look a little cleaner

(of course, it might be part of the personality of the cars too, but all i see, is barbara streissand's nose on a kardashian rear end)

Eeeeew :poke::D
My neighbor has one of those lowered with chrome spoke wheels, with tires so skinny that they run on the sidewalls and a sub woofer you can hear coming from blocks away.

Nice find! I agree those cars actually have some looks, not a cookie cutter thing. The MOPAR FMJ cars are I bet similar in price and performance ( for 80's cars!!!!) BUT with the GM sounds like you an actually buy parts for them!!!!!!!! If it is straight, fix the doors, scuff and make it glossy black!!!!!!!!

Nice find.

G Body cars rule.
Had a bunch, still have one. You can't compare the ride quality and handling (street or track) of any other brand intermediate.
Sorry.

i like that SS.. my big thing is finding wheels i like that aren't stupid expensive. i wanted the 15" 442 wheels but they stopped re-popping them and they are just as expensive as the 17" alumn ones now.. haven't seen a set of aftermarkets that i like yet.. still searching...

Nice score! I love those cutlasses! My brother had a silver 86 and a charcoal 87 when I was a kid. I’d love to buy one someday.

Nice car. I had an 80 at one time, it was a fun car once the v6 went bye bye and the 455 went in
