Has anyone used the AMD replacement dual exhaust valance for a 69 cuda and were you happy with it as far reverse light location and fitment? TIA

I used it as well on my '69 vert. No issues at all. Had to cut holes for reverse lights

There is a reason to be unhappy with the factories positioning of the reverse lamps.... Adding bumperettes should require drilling holes in the bumper. At the front bumper it's simple enough to place the bumperettes at bumper brace bolts instead of drilling additional holes in the bumper. Try this at the back bumper and you find the bumpettes land right in front of the reverse lamps. :(
Aftermarket valance allows one to put reverse lamps wherever but please note, If the lamp fixture is relocated the hole in the frame member behind the valance is relative to the lamp fixtures depth. Pics of end result.

I used the AMD part on my 69 cuda. Fit well and seemed to be a pretty exact replica. Free shipping from Jegs. Got the dual exhaust one. Was a bonus since my original was a single.

Make sure you fit it with the tail lights in. The tail lights require additional clearance. Everything moves when you remove it.

left the backup lights off and put a light strip over the license plate.

Over all the Valance fits great. But over there is a lot of little differences. The dual cut outs on the AMD are not in the same spot as the factory. The cut outs themselves are not correct, you will to do some work on the shape of the dual cut out area to get the shape correct. The other difference are minor

Thanks, fortunately I don't have those cute bumperettes

lol, well then I'm waiting on you Dave, hint hint

The driver side is more off towards the center of the car. Size and shape is wrong.
Passenger side is closer to the correct spot. Just off because it’s a little bigger. The passenger side top of the cut out is angle down towards the passenger side pretty good amount. 1/4 inch
The AMD cut outs are more rounded and rolled compared to the factory ones.
The two bead rolls are bigger on the AMD That makes it look closer together. The factory are narrower more pronounced.
The rest of the panel just some stampingS on the AMD is not as pronounced as the original. The AMD one is a little more rounded near the reverse lights.
But overall a very nice piece and well needed peace.

Oops, since I did not originally have dual exhaust valance, I was not aware of cutout difference as I had nothing to compare to.....

Plus I think AMD stopped making them with the reverse lights cut out for 67 and 69.
I noticed AMD is started to STOP making some items.
Also if you see someone selling the 69 with reverse light hole, make sure they have it in stock. Most of the dealers drop ship.
