I have a 70 Duster drag car with a GenIII Hemi in it. The motor sits on a motor plate, there are no motor mounts. I need to drop the pan due to an oil leak. Rather than pull the motor out, I'd like to try dropping the K member, which I've never done before. remember the K member does NOT support the motor in my case.
Does anybody have a suggestion of a good video to watch or some tips on things to avoid?
Thanks!

Should be pretty easy task then; disconnect the steering shaft from the box, remove the torsion bars (assuming it is still using them, they dont have to come all the way out, just out of the LCAs), remove the shock bolts on the top, remove the struts, look for anything else connected to it, put something under it and apply slight pressure, remove the 4 bolts and then lower the K frame.

What 70call440 said. In addition, disconnect the upper a-arm from the spindle. Remove and support calipers(assuming you have disc brakes), or disconnect drum/spindles from lower a-arms. These last two suggestions eliminate the need for bleeding brakes. The rest is "what he said". Access to a lift is heavenly.

I decided to just pull the motor and tranny from the top. There was a possibility of needing a new rear main seal which involves removing the transmission and flexplate, so I just took it out from the top like I usually do. I also had some valve cover bolt holes in the heads that needed heli coils. All that added up to it being easier to just pull it all out.
