Inland shifter spring

Come on somebody knows about these things. I know these things are the redhead stepchild of mopar shifters but surely somebody here has done a factory restoration involving an inland shifter.

I've pulled mine off of the transmission and was about to take it apart when I noticed this recessed cavity on the piece that moves with the shifter handle. It looks like a spring may go between here and the side of the shifter body/frame. It would theoretically hold the shifter handle in the 3-4 gate.

Anyone know how stiff a shifter spring would be? Seems like you would want something fairly stout to overcome the leverage of the shifter handle.
