So, I know how to do it......or........more pointedly, I know how I WILL do it, but I am curious to see how some of yall did it. Might get some better ideas.

1964 Valiant, 170 3 on the tree. I am probably going to convert it to the Super Six intake with a 318 2 barrel. Just wondering how some of you have done this. Pictures would be nice. Don't need V8 pictures. Just slants please. Thank you.

Early a body v8 gas pedal super six throttle bracket cleanest way to do it, if you don't have a super six throttle cable bracket a later 67 bracket slant six one barrel will work with some bending.

You get to keep the early abody gas pedal style, with the early v eight or slant six with a/c pedal set up. If using later 67 gas pedal set up will mount but not work properly.

Ok, so see.....that's already different and possibly better and easier than I would have done it. I assume then the early A V8 pedal assembly has a cable instead? Thank you.

Yup the cable you can buy at rockauto for like 12 bucks. You just drill three new holes on the fire wall but these holes are already dimples from the factory bolt it in done deal, you can use your slant six pedal just got to tear the little ring thing at the end and add a tape padding.

Here’s the setup we used on Jason’s car. We replaced the factory cable with an aftermarket cable.

Works great.

Just for the record-
The factory 64-66 gas pedal has a rotation rod not a cable. That cable set up is v-8 only. Again, all marks are there. Ya just need to drill and plug the factory /6 rod hole.

1964-66 V8 and slant six with air conditioning had the same pedal

You don’t even need to plug the throttle shaft hole. The pedal mounting plate does that along with mounting the pedal pivot. It’s really a slick set up.

We just ran an aftermarket throttle cable because it was easier with our intake and carburetor selection and worked better.

Wish I would of kept my super six set up instead of going four barrel noticed a a decrease in performance two barrel revs up way faster than the 500 eddy Avs

Years ago I had a hot roded slant six. It worked great with a 390 vacuum secondary out that I had on with an Offenhauser intake.

That’s the same carburetor that were running on Jason’s 318. It works great but runs out of breath at about 4800 RPMs. LOL. We have a 600 waiting for it.

I sorta know what the 64 slant cars have. I've got one. lol All I need now is the factory V8 pedal setup. Anybody got one?

In other words, since my 64 Dart Gt 225 Automatic, is a non air conditioner car, I need to find a new accelerator pedal from an AC car slant 6 or a V-8 car correct? Does anyone have any other thoughts? Or, other accelerator pedal options?

yup early abody v eight or slant six with ac, the later 67 and up pedals will not let you give full throttle it hits the floor tunnel. looks stupid too

The later swing pedal can be modified to work in an early A body. I put a 67-up swing pedal in my 63 Valiant. The 64-66 V8 pedal setup won't fit a 63 as the firewall is different. Had to trim it a bit and drill a couple new holes to fit correctly. Then cut off the pedal and welded in a 65 V8 spoon and used a 65 V8 accelerator pedal. The swing pedal would have worked OK; I just wanted it to look factory. First pic - before new firewall pad; second pic, new firewall pad trimmed to fit the swing pedal setup and new carpet. I'm actually still running a slant six, but with a 4-barrel carb which needed a cable throttle instead of bellcrank. Last pic is the throttle linkage on the engine.

I am wondering if anyone in the forum has the proper pedal that I need. I know of an old junkyard in Watertown, NY tht may be able to fix me up.
