Throttle Cable Conversion For Early A
The later swing pedal can be modified to work in an early A body. I put a 67-up swing pedal in my 63 Valiant. The 64-66 V8 pedal setup won't fit a 63 as the firewall is different. Had to trim it a bit and drill a couple new holes to fit correctly. Then cut off the pedal and welded in a 65 V8 spoon and used a 65 V8 accelerator pedal. The swing pedal would have worked OK; I just wanted it to look factory. First pic - before new firewall pad; second pic, new firewall pad trimmed to fit the swing pedal setup and new carpet. I'm actually still running a slant six, but with a 4-barrel carb which needed a cable throttle instead of bellcrank. Last pic is the throttle linkage on the engine.
