Good luck on your project, weather is going to warm up some this week.

TOugh to beat the new kick panels you can buy with speakers in them.

Ahh I feel your pain of working on the front dash speaker! I did the same thing on my Scamp last Fall and it was not simple. Did you removed the passenger side defrost vent and glove box liner for better access?

Went through the dash up between the dash and heater box, removed the ducting for the defrost vents cut the old speaker out of the housing used it for a mount.

@roccodart440 yeah I’ve heard of those but wanted to keep it all original worth the extra hassle/neck pains

How did you wire up the new speaker? I want to replace my speaker, because my factory radio still works.

Uhmmm like reached up there Took the ducting for the vents out took the gauge cluster out and surgecly put the replacement 4/8 ohm speaker up there, I wanna say up through the bottom...the replacement didn’t really fit so we cut the housing to make shift a mounting bracket and bolted the original like, mounting plate up there and connect and boom good to go...lots of being pressed on the floor between the seats and fire wall but once it’s there it’s done!
