Your talking about 400s instead of 440s and theres a half second between the two. A low compression smog 440 is good for 325 to 350 hp and that's it, you can't make power with less than 8:1 cr.
Theres formulas for going tens and you apparently arnt aware of them.

• My old friend went mid 9's off a 400 in a Mirada style Cordoba almost 30 years ago.... so ya, 400's can make power. I'll take the cheapest motor/tranny combo that's good deal ! :)
