Is it necessary to use a V8 center link when installing a V8 in a /6 car ? Thanks for the info.

No. Not every time. It depends on which mounts you use and "where" the engine ends up in the bay as well as which oil pan you use. I did my 65 Valiant from a 225 to a 360 in the 1990s and it fit with the slant six center link. It was close, but it didn't hit. It's just something you have to put together "and see".

If your talking 67 up there’s no difference between a /6 and V8 center link best I recall.

Now I have to ask, How to tag Halfafish to this so he can see it

I can post the link on your for sale thread if you like

Thanks. It looks like we have dual threads on this question, I just posted the same question. I'm putting together a 69 BB Dart, and wanted to know if the V8 center link is a necessity. I imagine I will find a slant car to start with, and I have a set of Schumacher slant-to-BB engine mounts on my parts shelf.

Looks like you should be good to go.

You just type the @ SIGN followed by the person's fabo name. Then it sends an alert to the person you want to tag to the post discussion.

Example:

Whats the trick to that George ?

All you have to do to tag a member, is put the @ symbol, then their screen name. It will copy them in with a message to their alerts and a notice to their personal email.

Schumacher mounts, I have a set for slant-to-BB and SB-to-BB. I have a 402 pan and a 187 pan on the shelf.

That's what I used on my Valiant. Everything just fell in place.

On my 69 barracuda /6 swapped to a 360 using Trans Dapt Kit # 4695 engine mounts (Were alot cheaper than Schumacher kit). Didn't have to change it.

I used a 73 up slant 6 spool K member and linkages in my 72.
Schumacher slant to 360 mounts.
Spool K is easy to convert and the mounts/stands take up less space than a V8 spool or either biscuit style.
73 up steering gear joints point down (pitman arm, idler arm, etc.) not up, so center link etc. mount from below.
Both give a little more engine clearance imo.
