i'm working on my 69 m-code cuda and need a 383 or the original 440 k-member.

i have a very nice 340 k-member that i can't use. i can throw that into the deal if you like. if you have a 383 k-member i'll need to verify that it is because i thought the 340 member i purchased was the big block unit.

thanks for your help.

For some reason my reply was deleted. Can you show why/what makes this a 340 k member?

hi 4spdragtop...
well you posed a great question that i can't answer right now. i can't exactly remember where i got the k-frame i have but i'm pretty sure i bought it off of ebay a few years ago. i have two other 340 cars and am positive that i would have been looking for a big block k-frame for the 440 m-code cuda i'm building. i suspect that i purchased the frame i have because the seller said it was a big block k-frame in his ad. i know a lot about the 67-69 Barracuda's but not much as to the different k-frames they used. available engines in these cars were: slant 6, 273, 318, 340, 383 and the limited 440 with special motor mounts. i don't think my k-frame is for a slant 6. i'm guessing that plymouth used the same k-frame for the small v-8's 273, 318, 340. i know the 383 block is different from the small block one, but i don't know "exactly" what that difference is. i will look at one of my 340 cars and see if i can tell for sure that the k-frame i have is for a 340. i don't need this k-frame, right now i need the 383 big block one. there are a couple of guys here on FABO that i'm talking with that have the k-frame i need. i will try and post some pics of my 340 car so we can all see what a 340 k-frame looks like.

The washer on the K did more than just take up space. If you look under the T-bar sockets you will find a horseshoe-strap welded there to reinforce that area where the tubes frequently tear out. There may be other mods. I vaguely remember reinforcement to the steering box weldment.

This k frame was on a m-code dart. It has a few dents on the bottom. I had it powder coated. I need $1000 +shipping

hi rlcbit...
the k member looks great. do you know how much this weighs or can you calculate shipping to me at 1108 peachtree road, carnegie, pennsylvania 15106. also, if we go forward, can we do a simple sales agreement which i could email to you for your signature? if you have a scanner, you could sign it and then email me a copy. but since i'm not in a great hurry on this item, we could do this by regular mail if you like since you are just down in kentucky. i'm thinking we do the sales agreement and exchange signed copies, then i send you the money and then you send the k member. does all that sound ok to you? let me know what you think and thanks again.

Shipping is $110 . If you are interested. Just let me know. Thanks

rlcbit.. .i did want to get back to you. barracudakid here on FABO had a big block k member for a little less than what your were asking so i purchased the part off of him. i am not building my M-Code Cuda as a "museum piece" or a "trailer queen" so i am trying to keep the restoration costs controlled. i do appreciate your getting back to me and sending pictures of your k-member. yours was a little nicer than barracuda's kids, but i couldn't pass up the price.

DEALING WITH BARRACUDA KID....
i just wanted to mention barracudakid here on FABO. this guy was great to deal with and was very up-front and honest through our entire transaction. the part i purchased off of him was not exactly "cheap" so we did have to do a written sales agreement. however, barracudakid was very cooperative with that matter and then sent his part immediately after receiving payment. his k-member arrived in exactly the same condition as the pictures he had sent. i purchased all four of my cars off of ebay and have purchased parts off of other websites. the vast majority of folks were honest, however, i did have to file a lawsuit against two "not so honest" guys. it helps that i'm an attorney in suing people who don't want to act honestly, but it is still a hassle. i was VERY happy that everything went easily with barracudakid. i would recommend him to anyone here on FABO if he has a part for sale.
