Did you ever rock a hiJacker sticker?

As I was tearing the rear differential out of my car recently, I had to take out the air shocks that a former owner had installed. It reminded me of the days when a lot of cars had them for tire clearance, including my old Duster. I then recalled the the sticker you received with the shocks, the little rabbit with it's butt way up in the air, and the word hiJackers underneath pictured below. I'll be the first to confess that my Duster had the stickers, but in my defense they were on the car when I bought it. That said, I left them on because I thought they were "cool", and I did not even get paid contingency money to sport them.:)

It’s a cool sticker!

My old man had a giant reflective version of that sticker on the side of his Snap On toolbox in his shop. Probably still does.

Terrible idea. Great sticker. :D

Many years ago, I bought an 8 3/4 out of a 69 Dart Swinger that had Hi Jackers on it. When I was underneath the car loosening things up I noticed the previous owner had painted the ZigZag man on the back of the housing. So I guess he put the air shocks on so people could see his artwork. Wish I would of taken a picture of it.

I never liked stickers on my car, and after "some girl" *** ended the 440-6 70RR I had the birds and other RR insignia left off the car. At the time, I thought I could claim it was a Satellite on my insurance, but of course that VIN-------and after I swapped the 340 into the thing, I still had trouble with a couple of agents who wanted to insure it as an HP car LOLOL--even though a 340 in a 70RR was no real slouch for a driver

If you started driving in the 70's like I did, you automatically got a set of air shocks with stickers in the mail when you turned 16.

I thought they came after you bought the wheels that were too wide to fit!

I was into cars before I could drive. A couple friends and I would write all the speed part company's and request stickers. We would get the addresses from car magazines or National Dragster. Most would respond with at least one sticker. Man, we were so excited when we would get a envelope back in the mail! I still have my collection to this day, all unstuck in photo albums. I leaf through them once in a great while, brings me back.

We used to ride our bikes to every service station around doing the same thing!

I always ran Hijackers, I liked that the rubber bags were protected by the steel sleeves and not exposed like the Monroes, although I have had both, Coronet had Hijackers, Charger had Monroes when I bought it, I had Hijackers on the Cuda.

That's great! We biked to Crane Cams one time. This was before they moved to Daytona. it was probably 4 miles away. There was a adjoining speed shop there also. We left with a few prizes, lol.

I think they quit calling them Hijackers in the early 90's I went to buy a set and they were just called Gabriel air shocks and only came painted black with no stickers.:( I put a set on my 69 charger in 1994.

It was so cool cruising back in the 70's and 80's, I'd get behind a car and you could tell which they were running, Hijackers were white and Monroes were yellow. :)

A friend of mine got a 68 340 GTS, his brother found some slotted chrome wide wheels for the back. He put Hi Jackers with the shock extensions on. The back bumper was about chest high. He ended up wrecking it because it handled so poorly. Sad, I know.

I was talking one of the guys at work today, he reminded me the other sticker that a lot of people rocked was the Thrush muffler sticker. Also, seemed like there was some sort of unspoken street etiquette that you put stickers on the rear quarter glass.
