5.2/5.9 Magnum Books

Welcome aboard. I know of only one Magnum specific book and it was released by MoPar. There are a few minor differences in the Magnum vs LA engine. Nothing to worry about and easily overcome. With that said, I suggest starting with “how to rebuild your small block MoPar/Chrysler” & “How to Hot Rod your small block MoPar” and the MoPar “Engines” book which is that above mentioned book by MoPar. IF you can’t find it, the “Engines” book that covers the LA engine or the bigger Engines book that covers /6, big and small block.

As said above, most of if not all the part numbers and parts are discontinued. But what it does is show you how they did it back then and that is clue number one on the direction to go in.

Things like an intake manifold suggestion from MoPar is there 6 pack intake and carbs, which are not always being reproduce or a available at all if not just downright expensive! These can be swapped for modern intakes readily available and much cheaper.

Another one is camshafts. A newer and more modern one is easy and cheap to get over the MoPar if even available. You can find out the specs of the MoPar cam and then take a look at what the aftermarket has that is comparable to the MP part.

If you need further “Hot Rodding” help & Engine book deciphering, you can PM me or post a question on the board. There are a number of members here that are really really good and some members that are down right excellent in certain fields like auto crossing, drag racing, suspension, electrical, braking, part & equipment swaps etc.....
