IIRC I cleaned the heads multiple times with etching Mag Wheel Cleaner (acid) and sprayed them down with my pressure washer. Then I gave them a couple light coats of engine primer followed by a couple coats of engine white (Duplicolor maybe or whatever brands you get at the parts store), then Chrysler Turquoise. Been running since last April and has held up very well, no flaking but the Mancini-brand engine paint isn't super strong I can scrape it off without too much force. The primer and white underneath seem to be tougher I can't seem to scrape through those as easily.
I also cleaned my intake in the same manner and coated it with aluminum-colored engine paint, you can tell it's painted but at least it won't turn all ugly and stained.
