I (did and) would do a RPM (AG or not, your call) with an appropriate sized carburetor & call it a day. My carb pick for the street is the new AVS II.
On my otherwise noted dead stock 5.9 is a AFB 600 & RPM. Other than a set of Hooker super comps @ 1-3/4 w/ 2-1/2 exhaust, it is just a JY distributor and Chrome box ignition.
A 727 w/2500 stall verter & 3.55’s round it out.
An excellent everywhere anytime driver.
