Hi Guys,
My buddy Larry wants to put a 8 3/4 into his '64 Barracuda. Does anyone know what length the driveshaft has to be? Thanks for your help!

904/727/833? More info will help this process.

Original transmission? It will have the ball and trunion front joint.

I just did my 65 dart. The length from the back of the 904 transmission to the center of the rear U joint was 57 1/4. I know the barracuda has a shorter wheelbase.

Are you sure you didn't have a 904 and 7 1/4" rear? My '69 Dart with 904 and 8 3/4 was 52".
The later plymouth A bodies had a 3" shorter wheel base than a dart but i don't know about '65?

Darts are longer wheelbase. Barracudas take the same driveshaft as a Duster, 67-69 Barracuda or Valiant, with the same trans and rear.

Yes it's a 7 1/4 now but he's going to swap in a 8 3/4

You need to first install the rear end then measure the from the center of the trans U joint to the center of the pinion u joint. QA1 has the information on how to do it right, on their web page. Check the width. They can be different also. Good luck.
