904 Rebuild spring mix-up
I'm putting a 904 back together and the 3/8" ball spring (that goes inside the valve body) and the 1-2 shift valve spring look very close and I got them mixed up. How do you tell them apart?
At rest they are about the same height and diameter, the one on the right pictured below is stiffer and the material has a larger diameter. Both ends of the one on the right have a more even flat wear pattern on both ends as well.
