They have a virtually rust free '80 shortbed also for sale. I really wanted it but it was about twice the money, so... If not budget, it would have been a no-brainer. I could still tell them to bring the other and pay the difference, but against the budget... yikes
 
Lets see......no grill, no bumper no hood or fenders, no cab,(insert roll cage and seat) no bed, remove all the leafs but the main one and add slapper bars, torch the front coils...........a..................

I don’t think it’ll get into the 10’s for $5k...... but I like it anyway.:thumbsup:

Just need to find a killer deal on a 6-71.

The truck we built the mag 360 for is a long bed. We will be watching (copying?) your weight removal process.
 
You know your going to have to had the 300 dollars in hacksaw blades to budget to.

Just giving you crap. It will be fun, just to see how far you can Squeeze it.
 
Wow! it’s been a little while since I’ve checked on this thread, it’s taking on a life all its own. Gentlemen, I believe we are on the cusp of talking it into place.

Well I normally wouldn't ask how much you pay for your vehicle here on the forum, but this is a 5K budget so I guess the question is how much of the budget is left?...

Absolutely no secrets. We gave 1300 which includes delivery. We'll get some of this money back as we sell some items. It has a low mileage 318 2bbl and 727 100% complete running. This was the daughters truck until she went to college and got married. Been sitting for 2 years, but should start and drive with minimal work.

we don't know what we'll get back in time for things like the 318, tranny, and a few odds and ends. Also, a couple pieces from the interior will be used in my wife's RC. Don't know how to put a dollar value on that.
 
Right now, we have 1300 into the truck and 730 into the BB heads. 2030 total at this point.
 
Now all you need is 600+ horsepower. Should have plenty of room for motor and the slicks to hook it up.
Looks like a nice truck.:thumbsup:

500 cubes with a 440 block. now it the time to change the title to " 10's on 10,000 ? "
