Say what !

Ace does carry (in most stores I've been in), 1/2" fine thread grade 8, like on the spindle to LCA.

I don't believe Lowes or TSC carries those.

I buy all of my fasteners from McMaster-Carr. Great selection, and order today, they show up tomorrow. I learned about this place when I was a Product Design Engineer. Very easy to use website, and drawings of most products they sell, so you can verify dimensions and tolerances.
I keep stock around for a lot of common sizes, so buying a larger qty than i need is fine with me.

I use Grade 2’s for shear pins on my bush hog. Otherwise, it’s a minimum of Grade 5’s.

TSC around me is brutal. They had a great grade 8 selection... when they opened... I don’t think it’s been stocked since. If I need it asap, pepboys has been good to me. Especially metric and flange bolts. You would think fastenal would be awesome... nope. If I can wait, mcmaster-carr it is.

I go to the local farm implement dealer, John Deer here. I can find most everything I need, and they sell it by the pound.

There's an Ace Harware out here that carries alot of hard to find items, it's at 159th & Bell Road....

That's my go to place when I'm looking for hard to find items... They have stuff that most standard stores around here don't....

For Moapr specific bolts...

That's the reason I can't afford to scrap my two, mostly played out parts vehicles.

I'm continually finding things on the 86 5th Ave and 87 D150 that haven't changed since the 1960's and I pull about $10 in fasteners every month, including oddly sized (try finding 6 3/4" with a 5" shoulder water pump bolts anywhere), flanged, captive washers, and foundry stamped, made in USA, genuine Mopar fasteners.

If I took those vehicles to scrap and got my $45 a piece (with scrap at $4 per 100 pounds),
It would cost me that $10 a month plus the loss whatever I find that's still the same in 1986 as it was in 1966 or 1973 (like instrument cluster light sockets, panel light dimmer wheels, or collapsible steering column plastic sliding washers).
