Head Trip

Hi guys, to say this conversation is a rarity for me is an understatement, I have been turning wrenches since I was 13 when I re-built my sister’s 225 slant six in her 72 challenger and I just turned 56. I spent my adult life in the Army and I use to race from one end of the country to the other. But they bombed the World Trades Center in 2001 while I was at Bomb Tech. school and we all got put on stop loss. So everything went into storage and I and my buddies went to War. Don’t get me wrong I am not complaining I have three tours in Iraq and 2 in Afghanistan, and served with some great people. I was wounded twice and eventually retired in 2013 because I had to many Cadaver parts in me, lol but all is good, I was luckier than a lot of guys. My body pain has gotten to the level where I am ready to race again, so here I am, hat in hand, and looking for help. I am not telling you all this for sympathy, but to explain where I am, in my racing life. To explain what all this is like when I start deploying my daughter was 8 years old after my last tour she was graduating from high school. While at Bomb Tech School I was in the middle of changing over to a larger race motor, so I sold a lot of my stuff and I was buying new stuff, well it is all out dated and my knowledge is lagging to say the least. It is a little like walking through a time machine and now I have missing time. So after that long and painful introduction lol I will ask my questions, I have a 1973 Dart Sport tubbed and caged (Weight is 2200lb with a small block and my big butt in it) I have 2 / 727 trans 1- BB and 1-SB and both have trans brake,4500 stall, with 272 front gear with 33”x 16”x15” Goodyears, with 433 gears. My dilemma is I have two partial engines. and Head technology has gone and left me behind, and I need some help if you would please. 1 is a (440 with 4.375 bore pistons and 4.15 stroker, H-Beam rods, girdle bottom end, with steel caps and a balanced rotating assembly, and I run a Tunnel Ram). Then I have an (R4 Siamese Bore Casting, 4.08 bore, 4.00 stroke, H-beam rods, girdle bottom end, and again and I run a Tunnel Ram). Both blocks have been squared, 0 decked, heat treated, line honed and honed with torque plates, and flat top pistons, using .070 TMG head gaskets. I was drawn towards the Trick Flow head 190 SB / and Trick Flow heads 270 BB. For obvious reasons, I can use my old rockers and intake, but I no nothing about them. Or would you go with the Victor’s, Indy, or old school B1/W2, and the BIGEST Question of all, drum roll please “Big Block or Small Block” lol. I am sorry about all the writing but my head is swimming, thanks
First of all, thank you for your service, brother.
Second, determine the class you want to run, then choose BB or SB.
Third, while I have no experience with them I would go with Trick Flow.
