Lets talk Roller Cam Lifters.

I was under the impression that if you "tubed a block" that you were adding lubrication to lifters.
I lost.
Negative ghostrider. Tubing the block eliminates the pressurized oil from leaking around the lifter body. The lifters are now reliant on splash oiling only. (Unless you put very small holes in the tube in each lifter bore.

I just had Mike Jones spec me a cam and lifter package for my 422. I asked for a SFT and when I mentioned that my block was tubed he said he would not recommend using a SFT because splash oiling was not reliable enough.

I do it. On a street strip engine. With .620 gross and .606/.604 net lift.

You can do it. Just do let it idle at 600 and buy a good oil.

depends yr
Jones had posted years ago that aftermarket cors were not what they used to say
I'm tryiing to find out if this has changed and good cores are available or what
nitriding
or better deep heat treat carburizing for the cam
edm and coated lifters
those using biletts and tool steel lifters must be over on the racers forum
