I believe these have been discussed on the forum but I have been messing around with the search feature and I just can't seem to find the thread.

There are at least a couple of companies that make three point seat belts that can be retrofit into our cars. IIRC, they offer a kit for bucket seat cars and a kit for bench cars. I believe that for those of us with a ceiling mount, it uses that existing point with the retractor on the floor.

Am I imagining this?
Thanks for any hints or points in the right direction.

They look very similar, if not the same as the ones from Seatbeltplus. I ordered from them as I could get a good color match to my seat color that I will use in my 65 Dart. They also offered the chrome latch, also similar to the OEM latch

I have the ones from Jegs. Worked very well in a 68 4 door Valiant. This is the only photo I have. The chrome latch type I have looks much like OE.

I wouldn't buy anything except for the modern factory type seat belt.....to more specific I always use the Humvee (factory seat belts). I've bought many different after market belts but they are all "clunky" in operation. I want something like the factory that locks (and releases) quickly, smoothly and efficiently when I turn a corner or stop quickly. All the after market belts have return springs that aren't as smooth in operation. Not only that...the after market belts are expensive compared the the FACTORY Humvee belts. I imagine somebody bought a crate (or 2) of these new belts from the government surplus and now sell them cheap on ebay. They are brand new and just as easy to install. Of course this is my own opinion but I have built a few hot rods and have bought numerous after market belts......the Humvee belts worked the best and you can't beat the price. These rear belts are extra long and work great for the 3 point application. Good luck in your search.

It may, My 68 Valiant did not. You can feel it with your fingers, just be careful not to poke a hole in the headliner.
