so i've been toying with the idea of either EFI or modern hemi for the dart. after thinking about it and getting good friends opinions i am pretty sold on just efi. either way this tank will work so i'm good to go. tanks inc has two tanks listed for a 70 dart. one is for a 67-70 the other is for a 70-76. apparently the filler neck is moved a little on the later ones. so after sending pics of the original tank to them they recommend the 67-70 tank. i guess we will see if it fits when the time comes...lol

i've been wanting to start gathering the parts and had found that summit has the best price i had found and its sold as a kit which comes with a tank, sender, pump and straps for the tank. the kit i bought was TNK-TCR11B-T-KIT. had to buy all separate from tanks inc and it was quite a but more that way. so the other day i got an unexpected check from work (sick time and personal time i didn't use) that i had forgotten about and decided to order it. showed up today and its a nice looking tank. powder coated and all...

pretty sure we are going just EFI on the existing 360 so i now have to save for that kit. think i have my mind set on the holley sniper kit that also does timing. figure i may as well be able to adjust it all from the drivers seat. thought about the proflow but don't want to deal with intake or kickdown linkage (read about both) issues and i'm not sure how much advantage that would really have in the real world anyway. hopefully i can grab some OT at work in the near future and save the cash to buy sooner rather then later. time will tell i guess...

her are a few pics of the tank. the baffle almost looks like it wouldn't be able to keep up with a stout motor but then i realized that the return line will keep it full for the most part anyway...

I used a new stock tank, and installed the fuel pump on the sending unit. This makes it almost mandatory to use a surge tank set-up to mitigate air getting in the high pressure side of the fuel system due to no baffling in the tank though.

The surge tank style of EFI fuel system out performs virtually all of the aftermarket fuel tank modifications with regard to supplying air free fuel down to the last gallon or two.

The only tank set-ups that comes close to the surge tank set-up are a 4 corner snow mobile pickup systems that feed into the factory fuel modules that come in the Corvettes, Cameros and Cadillacs.

yea i refuse to add something like that under the hood. looks too out of place for our car. couple friends run the tanks inc efi tank and don't have any issues with it. i think i'll be ok.

I hear you. Most people never pay attention to it though, and I am not into keeping everything stock looking. I like performance and drive the car to its limits.

The aftermarket tanks are a good choice for those that don't drive their cars hard on road courses etc. It also helps if they keep those tanks more than half full.

I have the same idea! I am reading and following some fitech and sniper discussion on FB. After 1 plus year of review / install/ problem came to conclusion of a Sniper with a tuning included by mad scientist/ efi system pro.

I Already have buy the same tanks as you and the sniper distributor. And downloaded the sniper instruction and have read them more than twice!!

Post your install

i'll post it whenever it happens. still far away though.

Have you looked at the Holley Sniper EFI tanks for your car? the 255lph complete tank is $580 and the 400lph complete tank is $620, both with free shipping. I believe this is the route i'll be going.

i doubt i'll have any issues even taking it to its limits. like i said i know a few guys running the same brand tank and have not had any issues with it.. and what looking stock and performance have to do with each other? chrome doesn't make it faster.. :)

My bad, I just went and reread your first post. I'm curious to see how it works out for you. I really need a 400lph FI tank, so i'm researching now as well.

pretty sure the sniper tank is just a tanks inc tank.. and the tanks inc with a the 255lph complete tank kit is $459 with free shipping at summit. and i'm sure if you wanted more pump you could call and have the bigger pump put in the kit instead.

Welcome! Custom Tuning from the Mad Scientist!
He helped a lot of people on. Holley sniper owners on fb... sell sniper and he do start up tune and advance tune remontly by e mail and live feed with a laptop. I am not a laptop efi guru for the amount of cash invested in buying Sniper / tank/ distributor and no headache on tuning it !
Efi system pro include the tuning via mad scientist 7 day phone service with purchase of sniper unit.

not a bad idea buying from him with all the support.... i'll look in to that. this would be my first efi system.. i installed a ez efi years ago and that self learned very well but i never messed with tit afterwards..

Good enough is plenty and likely more than enough for most guys, especially with these older cars. Very few people push them very hard these days. Leaving the tank half full at a minimum seems to take care of any issues with cavitation in these "baffled" aftermarket tanks.

Surge tanks systems are really helpful as you approach and exceed normal limits of performance and handling, especially when fuel levels get lower than half a tank, hence their popularity in modern drift cars, road course cars and race cars etc.

It's just alternative way to get the job done when it comes to upgrading fuel systems to support EFI.

Following. Will probably go this route too someday. Right now i need to get this wreck on the road for a while. Any reason you didnt go with the Edelbrock proflow 4?

see too may guys with the intake not fitting and i've read about kickdown issues though i think lokar was working on a new bracket just for it. proflow intake is 1"higher not sure if it will fit under the hood. plus i really don't know anyone running it for real world feedback. also not so sure i'll see any real improvement with it over a sniper type.

I have the same tank but opted to get a pump with AN fittings.
Made some updates to electrical as well, 4 Runner alternator, pos/neg hubs, etc.
