Good enough is plenty and likely more than enough for most guys, especially with these older cars. Very few people push them very hard these days. Leaving the tank half full at a minimum seems to take care of any issues with cavitation in these "baffled" aftermarket tanks.

Surge tanks systems are really helpful as you approach and exceed normal limits of performance and handling, especially when fuel levels get lower than half a tank, hence their popularity in modern drift cars, road course cars and race cars etc.

It's just alternative way to get the job done when it comes to upgrading fuel systems to support EFI.
