So I was just scrolling FB and I saw this. Never heard of it! Anyone ever see this? Or better yet, ever own a car with this option? Sounds like something GM tried to try and keep up with Mopar’s. :D

Frankly, I'd like to figure a way to REDUCE chemicals on the road, and I ain't even a tree hugger LOL

Could see it working- once...
Then switch over in summertime to bleach...

Start with tighter rules for big rigs, and ban rigs from mexico crossing the borders and onto our hwys. They spew and leak everywhere.

Yeah, it was a short lived concept from 50 years ago that was based on trains being able to spray sand down on the rails to get traction in slippery conditions but using newly discovered polymer techology.

In this case it was a sticky polymer because polymer technology was all the rage in new age chemistry cutting edge technology back then.

Remember that it was the era of Teflon, high performance plastics and adhesives that had never been seen before. All coming out of the developments of the space program.

It didn’t live long because it was an impractical idea...but solid enough to at least try.

They didn’t see the advances in tire technology that were coming from the same scientific discovery base that would eventually render it moot.

It is how technology has always progressed. Some lead and fall back, while others hang back and then advance.
