Or, just take the valve cover off and look. If the rockers have adjustment screws, it has solid lifters, mechanical cam. If no adjusters, you have a hydraulic setup.

I agree......that is unless someone put a hydraulic cam and lifters somewhere in the past. Course, that's probably a slim to none chance. But as old as these old girls are now, you just never know.
