These came off of the 5.9 magnum in my 67 Barracuda. I have seen these exact manifolds on my great uncle's 340 T/A. So what exactly are they and were they offered on a bodies? What is the resale price of these?

These are the 68-70 340 hi po exhaust manifolds 2863549 /2863553 that were on all 340's during that period...standard issue on TA's and AAR's and on who you talk to will support 400 hp,,

Of course condition ie. heavy pitting/cracks/working heat riser and legible casting #'s (because they do make repo"s) that go for $600 a set

and which is roughly the going price for a mint set .... the real kicker is to have the driver side spark plug heat shield to boot !!!

I bought a set with a removed heat riser(some what pitted) #'s still legible) /exhaust sheild and a pair of new tti down pipes (highly recommended for a 2 1/2 exhaust system!!) heavy/smooth radius /correct bends that don't hit anything/nothing crimped or choked.. for $500. a real good deal... The tti pipes are $160 themselves....

If your motor is'nt a earth mover...you might want to keep and use those and have them ceramic coated, instead of selling your 1st born for a set of doug's/tti or I think there out of business ( Schumacher's) instead of dealing with fitment issues and longevity.... I just cringe when I read a post when some one says they just whacked a $600 set of headers with a hammer to make em fit !!!!!

some dont have any issues...I am not one of those people...:realcrazy:

Thanks. How do i identify if they are reproduction?

Take pictures of the casting numbers and date codes, easy to tell if they are repro's then...

These have the heat riser yet.

YES I had seen it on the passenger side manifold. the round weight and if you have the valve and thermal spring on the weight and it moves !!

I would not question their authenticity that set up alone is another $200 *if you can find it//I could be wrong BUT I have yet to see that repo'ed only NOS

I had 2 AAR's and they looked like that (no part#'s or dates in the outside of casting) They are on the inside by the outlets and hard to see. Those are in nice shape and you should be able to see them easy. Take some pictures of the insides (the block side of the manifolds)

Mega Parts is showing a repop heat riser valve repair kit at $145.00. I think I've seen it somewhere else for around the same price. I'm not sure if it is actually the correct one. The NOS ones I've seen are two or three times that much. Brad's is showing NOS for $389.00, and it looks like he's out of stock.
Mine's stuck open, and for that much, it's probably going to stay that way. I bought one of those electric choke conversions. I'm going to put it on in the spring. If it works well, it will make the heat riser unnecessary.
