What seals between the two shafts? O ring? I don't suppose this could be a case pressure/ vent problem?

Some had an O ring and some had a little rubber seal kind of like the speedo pinion uses only larger.
Probably not a pressure or vent issue since it did it sitting.
Sure could see a lot of fluid around the base of the selector shaft though.

He probably has it fixed by now.:D
