Now you know your going to have to show us more pictures than that! :thankyou:

They had a huge shop in Reno NV used to go there all the time in the 80’s and early nineties. They collaborated with petty and mopar quite a bit.. always had lots of one off stuff and were very friendly

Welcome aboard from a huge Dodge truck utiline fan I used to follow all the info on Walker and Rod Hall back in the day, VERY cool to see these trucks are still around!

From one off road racer to another, welcome. You have an awesome truck. Tell us more about it.

Such a legendary and rare piece of Mopar history. To actually have it and to continue to race with it so people can appreciate it deserves some kind of honor. I’m completely dumbfounded knowing that one would even still be around.

Yeah it’s really cool every year there is a vintage Baja 1000 called the Norra Mexican 1000. Lots of cool old vehicles come out of museums to race. Dodge wise there’s usually at least one Walker Evans Old Dodge trucks. This truck will go to the off-road motor sports Hall of Fame after our next race it will be in the museum for Rod Hall‘s birthday with a few of his other old race vehicles.

The truck that i own came from dodge and immediately was sent to Bill Stroppe and associates Where it would get built into a race truck for Rod Hall..Stoppe Also made Parnelli Jones’s Bronco big oly as well as a handful of other race vehicles. This truck is a 1976 and it won the Baja 1000, the meant 400, the Baja 500, and many other races like four or five years in a row.

I had a magazine from ‘85 that covered the build and a shop tour of the Rod Hall trucks. I would love to see all the axle and suspension work again. IIRC, they weren’t very far removed from the stock truck that came into the shop.

Sol,
That is just too cool,
Worked at Summers Brothers for about 8 years back in the 80's and though we were making lots of axles and Spools then for Drag Racers....Glidden, W.J., Grumpy, Reher Morrison, R.Smith, etc, I swear my boss Bob Summers was really more interested in making Off Road Racing parts and gone off to the Mint or Baja. I recall Walker having one of his trucks at the shop and lots of stuff for Chenowth. I can't recall if Rod was a customer or not but it's great that you've got the truck.

When I lived out in Cal. , I was at Dumont dunes one time and there was one of Walker Evans dodge trucks blasting around up there , no one got anywhere near in his way. That thing soaked up the whoops and stuff like on a cloud . Was absolutely the fastest thing there too .
