I have a NOS set of 3.55 gears for a 7 1/4. Was thinking about putting them in my 63 Valiant in place of the 2.94's. Problem is (I found out) the NOS set only fits 60 and 61. If I remember correctly, the ring gear bolts are smaller than 62 and later. Put the gears on ebay a couple years ago and they didn't sell. I'm about ready to throw them in the trash along with all the extra 7 1/4 rears I used to have. (Sorry if I sound crabby, but I've been rather forcibly confronted with the fact that I'm getting old and have way more stuff than I'll ever get around to using. So have been trying downsize and I'm finding out that that's a bigger job than I ever imagined. 2500 pounds of scrap metal so far, not counting several junk cars or all the stuff I've sold on ebay and Craigslist or the stuff I've given away to friends. How did I ever manage to accumulate so much junk??)
