This is the Bell loser in the Attach Helicopter program from the 70's. The winner of the program was the Apache. We got this airframe to do a drop test at NASA Langley to test fuel cells, landing gear, crash worthy seats etc. So you paint them yellow for the high speed cameras filming the impact. The red steel part simulated the engine mass and the rotor blades were cut to like a 1/3 length. 3rd man from the right is your truly. YAH-63.
