DID SOMETHING SILLY STR12 INTAKE LOL

Great explanation. What is your opinion of the recommendation to have one carb utilize a choke on the STR-12?

I can tell you I haven't run a choke since 1981 or 82.

There is no reason for it. Even where I live where 105 in the summer and single digits in the winter are common, I don't use a choke.

I also never ever run heat through an intake manifold. No reason for that either. Once the engine gets some temp in it, the heat going through the intake is a serious negative. That's one reason why so many guys can't run any compression on pump gas.

I've seen engines turn cast iron bright blue from all that heat. How in the hell is the carb supposed to deal with all the heat under it?
