This is what it ran , how much is left in it

I still thing you have a junk converter but shake down what you have first, aka find out what it likes, RPM, timing, launch rpm excetra. By the time your half way threw it all.......you will know if it is the transmission or the converter. because if it is the transmission failing it won't last thru a half a dozen run. but iF it is the converter, it will.
save you money, Don't by a converter and DON'T buy a "off the shelf" converter.............well..........If your converter is slipping as bad as it sound.........and "off the shelf converter" will work much better............

Force yourself to shift at 5- 5500 and then raise it 200 rpm at a time. until it kick you in the pant or the ET slows.

Just a quick up date went to the track only got 5 passes in and my best time was 12.50 shifting @5600 anything past that it slowed it down , didn’t have time to mess with the timeing so thanks again for all the help and I will be changing torque converter this winter

cool... we like updates :)

Torque converter has been order and when the weather brakes and the track opens we will see if that helps

A place out of Texas called freak show 3500 stall $600 I talk to the guy about my Combo seems like a good guy

I never heard of them. I deal with Dynamic, PTC and Ultimate. To me it’s well worth the money spent for a name brand converter. As stated b4, it’s no place to cheap out. Kim

Well I hope I didn’t cheap out lol there a few guys around here that’s has used them for years and they have been happy with them so I’m hoping it works out

I've heard of freak show, but usually from the LS crowd I think.

This isnt going to be a tq converter issue its clearly a power issue as your times are consistent. even with the right tq converter your trap speed should be way higher. i ran those times with a bone stock magnum motor with a stock converter in a 2900 lb car. that motor isnt making enough power. id post a video so we can hear what its doing

What was the speed, and was it still running 6k through the lights?

Unfortunately I have no videos But it was not missing or anything like that and from what I was told the converter may have been slipping up top

Well..... for sure “something” is slipping...... or the tac is way off.

103-107...... that’s a pretty wide range.
Are you saying it went 103 on some passes, and 107 on others?
On the same day?(not counting any elimination runs where you may have let off to keep from breaking out)

I’m thinking it was 103 and no it was just tnt

Just an update finally got to the track I put an 8 3/4 rear end in the car a new torque converter 4000 stall upgraded the front Suspension went with a 750 perform carburetor and a new set of m/t slicks dam thing still runs 12.50 @ 103mph and a new holly blue pump I guess that’s all she has just wanted to give an update and say thanks for the help

can you post an actual time slip so we can see the incrementals?
Based on what its doing, sounds like The dyno the motor was on is mighty happy.
If it was making remotely close to 450 ish horse it would be well into the 11’s with way more mph.

I’m at work right now but I’ll be more than happy to when I get home , don’t get me wrong I’m very happy with the blue print engine And your not the 1st to say it should be in the 11s just can’t seem to find what I’m missing my 60ft is 1.7 / 1.6 I know that for sure

At this point, the biggest red flag to me is the rather low speed at the end of the 1/4.....103.
My WAG is the valvetrain isn’t happy at higher rpm.

My next move would be a trip to the chassis dyno to see what the top end of the power curve looked like.

I was thinking the trans is the next thing I would pull trans and have it gone Thur this winter that’s the only thing left I haven’t tried
