I know there’s info on line for EBay car listing fees. My understanding is a car listing fee is about $125

Two questions. Do you only pay this fee once the car sells and can you list it as many times needed until it sells ?

its been many years but normally there is an insertion fee, plus any listing upgrades.
then a % fee (up to certain $$$ amount for things like homes, cars, boats, land, etc) tacked on at the end, post sale completion.
The listing fee is per every time it goes 'live' under a new auction.
The final value fee is only once and is refunded should the sale not complete.
Some 'relisting if not sold' of the original auction posting are free however, this can vary from time to time as ebay will toss out incentives to sellers occasionally. They may have changed it so now a certain number of relsit are free, then after that you get dinged. again, its been years since Ive done it, but thats what i recall.

I sold a '72 Blazer years ago, if I recall correctly, no fee to list and was $125 flat fee after it sold. You get 6 free listings a year, but do not recall if it does not sell if it counts as another listing out of your original 6 to list it again. Mine sold in the first listing , so I have no experience with needing more .

I don’t think it works that way for cars. Cars only have a listing fee. I don’t think a value fee applies to cars ?

Kind of what I thought. You didn’t have to pay the $125 up front correct ? No value fees, etc ? Based on seeing other sellers listing the same car for up to a year. I assume based on that. You can resist it as many times needed until it sells ?

Sold one there a few years ago, add cost me a few bucks because of pictures. Then when sold was $125.00 fee. What you have to watch out for is paypal. They hit you around 3 percent for all money collected thru them. I take deposit with paypal but insist being paid other ways unless buyer is willing to pay those fees.

When I did it, no fee up front. Again, I'm not sure about how many times you can relist the same car, but a quick look though eBay should help.

Thank you, that’s what I thought. Yeah, too many hands in the cookie jar. You know Uncle Sam couldn’t go without. Based on what you said, it’s probably best just to require a $500 down payment.

Sold a few on ebay years ago.
One thing you need is a time limit on being payed. Like 24 or 48 hours for10% or $500 by paypal or whatever method of payment and the rest within 7 or 10 days. Failure to pay in full by the date is forfeit of any money paided.
If you don't put a pay by a certin time some "buyers" will drag it out.

Good advice. I ll definitely apply that.

as I stated its been several years, maybe 10 since ive sold cars/parts on on there. things most likely changed.
There used to be final value fees on everything, but had a % cap. now its all 1 flat rate which is probably best.
