Well here we go again... I bought another 67 Dart Gt. Hopefully I can keep after this one and keep it rolling along.

Here is a little back story on the car.

I have been looking for a 67 Gt for several years now and about 4 years ago found one in the Chicago area. The guy wanted a ton of money for it but I figured I'd look at it.

My father and I headed down about 2 years ago and we were pretty unimpressed with the car as it needed a ton of work for the money. For some reason the guy wanted tons of cash for it. We said thanks but no and moved on.

Fast forward to this fall. I noticed the same car, same guy trying to sell it again on Facebook marketplace. Only this time a bit better if a price. I contacted him again and set a time to see the car again. Still the same mess, only a much better price and delivery included. We made a deal and the car is here.

The car is originally a slant 6 Gt white with black interior. Fender tag is missing unfortunately. It has been swapped to a 383 727 8 3/4 set up that was done horribly. I honestly can't wait to show you all the photos of this Chevy mechanics handy work.

Plans for the car include using what I have for awhile and getting the car running and driving safely. The car needs a ton of metal work but the bones are decent. Frame rails are good and floors solid other than the front foot wells.

I will upload pictures as I tackle each task and we will all get to laugh at the handy work of the previous owner.

Here are a few updates. I get to correct some of the previous owners handy work in the future. Check out the driveshaft length.

Tonight I started a repair on the common door striker issue. I am welding in a big washer and fixing all the cracks. This is temporary until I actually start a full restoration. This car is going to be something I drive for awhile so I am just trying to make it functional.

I decided to do a bit of a temporary repair on the striker today. Door shuts and fits for now to at least make it functional!

I got side tracked and added a nice ceiling mounted 50k btu furnace. Pics to follow!

Heck yeah man! You got them boys ready for a big Christmas?

I got some time this weekend to work on pig pen. The previous owner installed an a body 8 3/4 rear end but forgot half the bolts and used some ridiculous shock mounts with no mount for the shock....???

I pulled the rear, I have new stuff to install it correctly but I wanted to start cleaning the bottom of the car. Most of the under cost removed. I will chassis black it and probably just re undercoat the back so I can install the rear end. Rear will get painted black as well but I am not going to disassemble it and blast and paint. I am trying to keep this cheap but steady so I'm not stuck on a ten year project.

Pig pen has been hiding some dirty little secrets! Can you see the frame rail damage?

Here is one quick coat or Eastwood rust encapsulator. I will undercoat it after a few days.

Here is some undercoat I sprayed. I was not happy with the rattle can autozone stuff and don't have a schutz gun anymore so I actually used some flex seal. Sprays nice has a good texture and seems to have amazing vertical stability.

Pig Pen is getting closer now. I gave him a rattle can rear end rebuild. New leaf springs and bushings. Once I get it mounted I can measure for the driveshaft.

Old big block looks clean on the inside!

It was supposed to be rebuilt from what the last guy said. It needs a good cleaning though. Not sure why it looks so good inside and looks like a pig Pen on the outside?

Cause it was rebuilt and then someone didn't give a darn what it looked like. Now you have it and all that's gonna change.
