Get on the medical marijuana. I have a few friends that were on the opioids and they all been going to the medical marijuana. Some on just the hemp plant and some with the THC working wonders

I tried the Medical Marijuana. Insurance will not cover it and in order for it to help it takes a lot. Taking recommended amount did nothing. MMJ is a big racket in my mind if you have the type of pain Ink has.

My wife gets occasional bad gall bladder attacks, and uses that when such occurs. She hates how it makes her feel the next ay. I will mention to her the cannabis thing.
Funny story. She had to get her prescription filled for that drug you guys are talking about. She takes it to Walmart, takes 2 days to get anything there filled. We go to pick it up, and someone had stole off the part of the prescription it takes for them to fill it. Ha So back to the doc and another 40 mi trip , 4 times and 3 days later!!! lol
I am on a Humana medicare advantage type plan, I get my drugs thru them in the mail. Works great.

Yes! Got a letter last month from my insurance company that I cant have my medication anymore.

Going thru that same deal with my Tramadol...was a 90 day script. They took it down to 21 pills for 28 days and the suggested use is two pills twice per day. I try not to use that much but some days I have too.

Now I get it renewed for three 30 day supply's but it takes a week to process the script because it has to be approved by some drug czar.

I think the point that some folks just don't grasp....I have been on this crap for over a decade. Pot, CBD, Opioids...dependency is dependency. Does not matter what it is. I have had enough of these little bastards controlling my life. I have 0 drive. Very little interest in doing much of anything. Have gotten to the point that I need more. Standing hurts. Walking hurts. Sitting hurts. To the point that I have very little enjoyment.
Is the stimulator perfect? Of course not. Will it "fix" me? Of course not. Neither will pot....neither will opioids....neither will CBD. What all these do is pain management...nothing more...nothing less.
Last year one of my "friends" at the track gave me a bottle of the CBD oil he swears by. Did not do a damn thing.
Back when pot was only legal here medicinally...I had a neighbor who owned the biggest "indoor gardening" store in the area. He was heavily tied into most of the large "farms" on the west coast. I smoked damn near every strain known to man. Ate more "brownies" then I care to admit to. Tried some sort of vaporizer. All with 0 effect on my pain.
Sure this is going to offend some folks. But I view the "herbal" methods the very same way I view religion...you believe in what you believe in because it is YOUR belief...
I worked with a guy who was anti Western Medicine. He believed that plants and vitamins etc were going to cure his 3 kids asthma. He came up to me one night, on the verge of tears. All 3 kids in the ER. Few months later he was asking me who I used to file my BK papers as he ran up $60K in debt buying these "natural" miracle cures.
There is something with this site that my PC is having an issue with...gotta go...
It's only a bandaid for a problem that is never going to get better, correct there. Everyone's body responds differently to meds, pain and treatment, correct there. Anyone that hasn't been there , HASN'T been there, and we all need to thank GOD that we are as good as we are!! It could always be worse( from pain level to the treatment that your not getting at this moment). It's so sad that most of the people that run these drugs in the ground are off living high on the hog. The drug companies pushing it to the pain clinics in Florida where you had to get an X-Ray or something that simple and then hand over their grocery list of what they wanted. I found out about all this year's ago and we are left to jump through any hoop they put in front of us! Hope they take care of you sooner than later! As far as cbd oil, I know people that swear by it.I tried it for a month and it didn't do a thing for me but does help my dogs arthritis out alot. True!

They won't mail a an opioid though will they?

Try med rx it's like a generic deal that I got hooked up with through a pharmacist when mine went to 400+ out of pocket. They have a free card or I pay 10$$$ a month for their good card which saves me over 300

"Dependency is dependency"
Opioids WILL kill you.
People...will kill you for opiods to boot.

As I used to say you go make a pot deal and you bring a handshake.
You go make a herion, coke, etc deal and you bring a gun.
There is a reason for that...death lingers around the deadly things in life.

Getting off opioids can kill you without medical help.
If someone tries to quit cold turkey, they will wish they were dead, because they are near death IF they make it over the hump.
I picked my sons limp body out of the bathtub after I heard the light taps on the tub from him calling for help, scary ****.
Thank God I heard those taps.

Doug, I am a Pharmaceutical development scientist who has spent decades working on opiates, NSAIDs, CBD and THC to help bring pain relief to those who truly need it. I also worked with Medtronics on the first spinal cord stimulators to control pain.

If you want some real information beyond the conjecture and false interpretation presented by most, PM me and I will be glad to give you some real insight based on the reality of science and data over the past 30 years.

You are quite correct, neither THC, CBD nor NSAIDs are direct replacements for opiates and the change over is complicated. However, there is a lot more to understanding the science of pain than those simple facts. Knowledge is power and I have several decades of clinical experience and understanding to share...if you want it.

I am one of the lucky ones who quit cold turkey on my own. The first 3 days were so bad my Wife hid my 9mm just in case. I had a 20 year dependency on pain meds from mild to finally maxing out on Oxycodone. I had no choice as I ran out 5 days before I could get a refill. Long story short I found out the "pain" I was masking was just withdrawal and not actual pain. I have been now diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritus but keep it to a dull roar with a minimal dose of prednisone and Ibuprophen. I suggest any one trying to get off opioids do so with Medical help. I tried the taper down method unsuccessfully.
