then you use the backing plate , and brake drums on the 8 3/4?
did u have 8 3/4 axles redrilled for the other pattern?
Axles are 5 x 4.5 bolt pattern, same as my car had already.
I used the backing plates, brakes and drums from the 8.25 that was in the car. Perfect fit. If you have the 7.25 rear end, I'm told you can use those backing plates as well but you have to drill the 5th hole (never tried it myself, though).
As I showed in the video, I personally never did anything with the perches other than oval each hole inward about 1/4 inch.
Shock mounts are the same if you have 8.25. If you have 7.25, you can drill them to fit as 7.25 rear ends have smaller axle housings vs the 8.75/8.25.
65,66,67 B-body years are ideal as they are a "smidge" narrower. 68,69,70 will work also. '71 and above got even wider.
B-body rear ends are much cheaper and easier to find locally and fit "next best" vs A-body 8.75.
B-body rear ends fill out the back wheel well better, and also give the 4.5 bolt pattern vs the small bolt pattern on the A body 8.75
