OK, LOL what is with the yellow thing? ^^

I had hoped some one would ask!
This is the Bell loser in the Attach Helicopter program from the 70's. The winner of the program was the Apache. We got this airframe to do a drop test at NASA Langley to test fuel cells, landing gear, crash worthy seats etc. So you paint them yellow for the high speed cameras filming the impact. The red steel part simulated the engine mass and the rotor blades were cut to like a 1/3 length. 3rd man from the right is your truly. YAH-63.

Spent my young adulthood in Hueys, oh yeah feet hanging out the doors and everything. My wife will not set foot in a chopper , so no scenic rides on vacation.

A person forgets, from time to time, just how "new" truly portable storage media IS. When I went to Navy ET school in 68/9, a friend of mine had I think a pretty darn new Munce 8 track, but most of his tapes were 4 track. He had a "gizmo" you stuck in the tape cartridge that provided the capstain idler---as a 4 track deck had the idler on a hinge, and entered the cartridge mechanically
