The instructions say just to basically turn the car on or turn it on and let it do whatever it does for about 30 seconds to about a minute and then plug it in and turn it on again and let it zero out in the open air. That's about it. You can unplug it and screw it in and plug it back in with it off after that and it stays calibrated..
