replaced the bad 3 week old Rockauto aftermarket blower fan on the 2012 Grand Carvan with an original pulled out of a 2008 Dodge Magnum from the junk yard...works perfect. The Rock fan smelled burned last night and stopped working. I removed and sent it 12V from a battery and it barely spun 200 RPM and it had a drag on the shaft. The old one I pulled spun like a skateboard wheel and when I gave it 12v from the test station, it almost jumped of the table. Still under even the closeout price 30 day warranty. Good thing was it only took 10 minutes to change out. Im glad it wasnt the resistor, Oreilly wanted $165 for that thing!!! strange design: 2 prong power in, 1 small 3rd pin and 2 power outs to fan. I thought it may be a PWM type as the fan has 6-7 speeds but has a huge heatsink on the back. Maybe for the switching MOSFET? And the Rockauto fitment guide is a waste. Says the 2008 Magnum and 300 and Charger use this but they all use some other 5 pin series resistor part. FAIL. This pic shows 3 small pins, mine has 1
