I dont look for admiration, but sometimes I think you do. I post stuff simply to show how things can be made instead of bought. I hope through my pix I can provide some sort of help to people who may need to fix or fabricate something they need. Give them ideas to help themselves.

As far as the PMs for parts, after the barracuda incident, and me needing and willing to purchase those inner roof support pieces you would probably never have sold anyways, since nobody asks for those pieces, however I needed them for a butchered car, I have not bothered you for any other parts since then. I have a very good sense of awareness that your not going to respond anyways. Like I said, I will just make what I need. I don't have any other choice.

Some people cut off their nose to spite their face. A long time ago you said something about me . Your user name I never forgot. Maybe you would be better off not commenting when it doesn't involve you . I look at some of your work and I am sure you have looked at what is done at our garage. I never put your ideas down even when I could have. Its called mutual respect . It goes a long way at times.

And what was that? I have never dogged your work, and actually taken mental notes of different jobs you post on here, as ideas for possible things I might do, or a different way to do something I was planning on fixing etc. I get a lot of ideas from everybody here, I also hope that I am able to give good ideas of my own for people to use. But you know what, I'm out. Long day, this has gone on long enough. We will never see eye to eye on this stuff. Heck I was even the guy who shot down the dude who mentioned your shops death by sawsall, and said that wasnt acceptable. As well as disagreeing with him about it. All I know is not having easy access to this stuff just makes me a better sheetmetal fabricator to make what I need.

I too don't want to hash over past issues. Well I guess I have to be the one to say I'm sorry and lets just let it get go. Maybe we clash because we're both experienced metal and body men. I post things to let friends know whats new at my place. It draws them in and brings work which brings sales. But most important it brings friends to hang out with when my son's at work. "Day's get long when no one is here, Dying alone is ones greatest fear". "Living is fast over 150 But life gets shorter after 60" . I am sorry Matt. Steve

Apology accepted, Steve, I would like to say I am sorry as well. We both got off on the wrong foot back then. This post may be long winded, but I just want you to see where I am coming from since I get upset when I see good looking stuff getting parted. Its because there is nothing like that out my way.

Heck i was looking at a white and granny green 70 Dart more door slant sux automatic that needed everything mechanical gone over, but was thinking nice patina daily driver. $1500 being more than fair since it needed front floor pan patches, tires, brakes, engine and trans tuneup type work. The usual take apart, clean and lube general stuff to get stuff working again etc. Old lady told me her daughter wanted it. Named it petunia of all things. Car hasn't moved in 20 years. On 4 rotted flat tires. I enquired about it 5 years ago. Still hasn't moved. Car living up to its given name I guess. Gonna stay planted right where it's at.

Yeah out here its rust free steel when you can find it. Like the half a scamp a fabo member and I bought out of a salvage yard, and he took a rust free roof and quarter skins from. It was a vinyl top car, but that's far and few in between. Other than that the cars are completely shot.

The fun suckers got to the state with that half a car B.S. I used to buy salvage cars all the time to fix and flip. Mostly FWD daytonas and lebarons. State changed that. I got one last car with a Tx salvage title. Its grandfathered in because I got it before the ruling. That scamp had a clean front clip you would have actually wanted. We wanted the whole car, they said no. Cant do it per state law. We took the *** end since it had the parts we both needed. Now the rest of it will stay there until they flatten it per state law.

I also got real upset when I wasnt able to buy those roof structure pieces to fix that barracuda. I know I can probably fab something as good as a factory part, I just didnt want to, as it's probably going to be a pain in the ***. We had 1 67 notch coupe in my boneyard. Like all the old stuff, the owner moves it around when clearing out rows of cars and replants it. I was going to go back for those pieces and the trunk hinge supports since the roof was cut off and sold, and all that was still intact. A new guy he hired flattened about 8 rows of cars including the old ones that the owner holds on to. He was fired that same day. He was told the old stuff that's marked w spray paint was not to get flattened. That 67 had 1 decent fender and a good trunk lid on it as well, it was in the 8 rows that got flattened.

Heres what we see all the time. Paint sunbaked off em, huge dents from epic hailstorms, sunbaked and dry rotted interiors. When I say epic hailstorms it's no joke. In 2009 we had a hailstorm on Easter sunday. Half the city had softball sized hail. It went through the roofs of houses. I have a metal roof so that didnt happen, but it tore up about 70% of the vehicles in the city. We had another one like it several years ago. Everything I have is either garaged or under a carport.

The reason i say when you can find it is that this is truck country. I have a 10 acre wrecking yard to buy stuff out of. Theres 4 picked clean A bodies, a few M bodies, 1 69 C body, no B or E bodies. Rest of the cars is new FWD stuff, and foreign. The majority of the 10 acres is trucks probably 75%.

Now that's great if you want a magnum engine, or a hemi, maybe an o/d trans. Or a locker, gears, and rear discs out of a jeep for an A body 8&1/4, or an explorer 8.8 to narrow. We just dont come across nice stuff like that out here. The Dallas area yards are all high turn pick n pulls. Stuff sits 2 weeks and is gone. Nothing old there. Great for modern driveline stuff. You get a helluva deal. But I dont ever see anything older than mid 80s in those places.

Steve as a sign of good will or olive branch if you will, I just replied to AbodyNewbie who is looking for these brackets circled in my pic below. He needs all 4 of them and the front torque boxes. I told him to reply to you since I know you still have that blue valiant moredoor cadaver. It's a recent thread he just started in cars and mopar parts wanted. Maybe you could help him out. Its little stuff like these brackets that aren't reproduced. I had a set from the half scamp, but sandblasted them and sold them long ago, or I would have helped him.

My response would be to never buy parts from this guy. Hopefully others will remember this, and follow suit.

Total selfishness here. That car could have made someone very happy, and still would be on the road today. All for what, a hood ? That's ridiculous. There are hoods out there, heck you probably have a couple in your backyard, go look. You know they aren't making these cars anymore, right ? This will be my last post on this. Sleep well car killer.

think that's bad, should have seen the number of 70 Coronet 4 doors I've gutted and crushed and a couple of 69's for icing. would i do it again? hell yes. would I post about it, probably not but that wouldn't change anything. when I can get what I need and distribute what's left to people who really need parts, it's a win - win. most of you don't really know where all those parts you are buying came from, but you are happy as hell to find them , huh?

Well listen there are many hoods out there. Here is an offer. Buy the car off of me . Go get one of those hoods that are plentiful. Put another hood on it and you'll be a hero. You can save it. I drove it around all day It runs good. Antique plates go with the car. I am also taking the Dash pad and heater box. They sell repop dash pads. and I'll give a heater box with scuff marks with the car. So come here with a hood and drive it home. If not it will eventually end up like this Valiant pictured below. And this valiant is still here because there are many more parts on it. rear Rails ,floors , rockers. Every part on cars that I get is saved.

But if any of you cry babies want this Dart just come here with cash.

Now lets see how many big mouths are ready to spend $3500 on a 72 four door. When there are several 2 doors on the web right now. Here is another one that has been on for a long time and if no one goes and gets it it is also coming here. I bought the 4 door instead of this two door because I wanted a 72 Hood. And when I am done I'll have been paid to take this hood instead of paying for it.
Who's going for this one before It gets sucked up by me. If we don't buy them they are going to a EZ pull and will be crushed before the parts are saved

1971 Dodge Dart inline 6 auto comes with 360 4 barrel w/ 727 auto trans. Asking $2500 obo trade for storage container. Located port Jervis NY 12771 Face book market place.

I say go for it OMM. Look at all the good factory parts at the swap meet at Carlisle. Some car somewhere gave up those parts so we can all revive our cars or make them better.

I deliver to Carlisle on request. I may get spots again this year just to get the golf carts in. Those dam mobility carts don't hold a charge long. I don't live far so I go home at night and take parts there every day.

I could talk to you on Friday and you could bring the part I need on Saturday. Doesn't get any better than that.

I don't think that anyone should be mad at a guy that parts out cars to help save other cars. Wrecking yards have been doing that for a hundred years.
I do it.
May of last year, I got a call from a Sacramento car buddy....
"You know of anyone that wants a '70 Polara? A guy just wants it out of his shop for what he paid".
POS.jpg

I asked about it on FCBO and nobody wanted it.
The interior was mostly stripped. It had a rusty roof and had rust in other places. It ran but had a dead transmission. I bought it for $250 and parted it out. The 383 and radiator went to FABO member Halfafish. The axle was cut down and sold to another FABO member. The wheels and tires are on my project Charger:

I sold the disc brakes and other stuff at a swap meet.
What I did NOT do was buy a reasonably clean and sort-of desirable car, start a thread about it with pictures and write about how I'm going to chop it up.
See the difference?
I wish you no ill will, I just wish that you displayed more tact and sense in how you handled the matter.

I'm guilty...........of helping people with getting parts they need. The front clip of this 74, t-bar crossmember forward, went to help a 74 360 Dart Sport that was in a front end collision. The rear rails and trunk pan attached went to a 68 Barracuda. Was this car driveable? Hell yes. Is that the kind of parts needed for a restoration? Hell yes.

I forgot, the 318 and trans went to a 73 Dart Sport and the 8 1/4 sure grip diff went to a 69 Dart Swinger. One four door car donated to four - 2 door desirable cars. I still have the front K-member for another 68 Barracuda. Sway bar and all.

I know sometimes (for me anyways) it's hard to say 'I'm sorry'.. much less in here with all testosterone floating around, lol.
Kudos to you.

And Kudos to you also, Matt, for accepting OMM's apology.. sometimes that's not easy either.

I've got no dog in this fight.. I've been on both sides of this argument at times.
It's nice to see OMM and Matt at least respect each other, and see the other side.
I've learned so much from both on here.. it was like watching two of my fav uncles arguing at a family reunion, lol.
Thanks to both of you.

Would make a great DD for me. Too far away. I'd be willing to drive 8 hours pulling a flat bed, but that's almost 2,000 miles away.

I remember the days roaming the junk yards looking for fastback parts not finding very many.
The 4 door cars were bypassed and left to rot.
Where were all you 4 door lovers when these cars needed rescue.
yea I know searching for parts to revive your old GTS Dart. lol
:drama:

We can agree to disagree, I know where I stand.
carry on, OMM.

For me the worst thing is when i see a car in any condition just sitting rotting away. Like on American Pickers, they go to a guys place and he has hundreds of cars on his property and he will not sell any of them because he is going to fix them all up some day and he is in his 80s and in poor health. His kin will in scrap them and they will all be gone. I would rather see a good car parted out before the parts are useless from rust etc. And thank goodness there are people willing to do it. My 67 Convertible dart needs trunk hinge supports and luckily a member had 2 convertibles he was parting out and I was able to get the supports. ( ~1200 67 to 69 convertible darts were produced, of them maybe 1/2 are still in existence, of them most are still on the road in some form, so there are few to no donor cars available.)

We all need to not cast the first stone as I am sure we would all buy a more door for parts or a \6 to engine swap as most of us do not have a sweet spot for those cars.
