Does anyone know of a source for a replacement dash pad for a 65 Valiant? My search came up empty handed. I did come a cross a plastic slide on dash cap that doesn't look to bad but would rather find a replacement if possible. Thanks in advance.

They will recover and re-pad your dash $$$$$. They “might” have cores they would rebuild and sell you.
Those plastic dash covers don’t look too hateful once installed and painted if necessary. Personally, I would rather have a nice uncracked original but that’s just me. A nice original uncracked one can fetch $200 or more for colors, Black tends to be less expensive.
I emailed Just Dashes and requested a quote. I will let everyone know what they say.
I had Just Dashes redo my 65 Barracuda pad about 10 years ago. Their work is excellent, but you do pay for the quality. FYI, my pad was light blue and matching that color added $100 to the already hefty bill. Get ready for a surprise.
Just received my quote from Just Dashes. $700 for black. add $200 for other colors. Thanks for not spoiling the surprise pbiggs. That black molded slip on dash cover looks pretty damn good right about now.

I put a slip on dash cover on a 66 Valiant a couple of years ago. It went on easy and looks good. Just take your time preparing the old dash for the slip on.

I bought and returned one of those dash caps, didn’t fit well at all. I sent my pad to Dash Specialists in Oregon. They were a little pricey, but less expensive than Just Dashes. I also sent them a color sample used to paint my dash, and they matched it damn close. I could not be happier with the result.
My feeling: If I’m sitting behind the wheel, I’m spending a lot of time looking above and at my dash. I didn’t want it to be an eyesore. Got me a nice wheel, too.

Thanks for the tip clifftt. I'd like to have mine restored. Dropping a lot of cash on this car so I would like it to be nice.

My local upholstery shop re-did the dash pad on my '65 Formula S for like thirty or forty bucks, nothing to it: some foam, glue, fabric. I cleaned up the metal base and painted it first.

I know I'm right....
I may try something like that. Fill the cracks, sand....spray adhesive and pull some warm pleather over and clamp until dry, trim and pray.....
