probably lol. No, I had to hit the thing with an 8 lb mini sledge. When I’d dropped it, it jammed it. Once it was loose, a simple screw held it on.Probably as easy as firing up an old Polara..........
Well, got one side done. Frame where cab mount bolts on was all cracked. And poorly repaired. So i ground off all the weld and v’d the cracks. Welded up and cleaned off the excess. Then added a plate to outside. So it wont crack again. Other side next weekend. Tomorrow is clean shop/benches and prep for engine swap. 5.3 in a 2011 chebby.

After 4pm in Fla. Half of 500 in the dark? No wonder they do those other events in the dark . So much for worrying about making changes to the cars because the track warmed up.

Undisclosed powerplant. 6 liter is GM's biggest and I have not heard it's a diesel. Wonder what it's got?

It is rumored to be the Caterpillar 3208 10.4L V8 diesel, in turbocharged form. It was used in variants of the Kodiak/Topkick on which chassis the Beast is reportedly built.
I was thinking about that. It's probably a 3 ton chassis. That 3208 is a good engine. I don't think Cat passed emissions so they are out of the over road business. It was that way a few years ago when I was on the tool truck servicing Harrison Truck Center's glider shop. You could buy a chassis and install a 3208 in it but you couldn't buy one complete, new.

I got as far as I could with my report for work. Turns out that the data for 2 of the 10 batches manufactured is missing. Sent a request to Australia for the missing data and since tomorrow is actually a work holiday giving me an extra day to complete the report...beer time now!
