Valve Springs and Seals Info?

Fwiw....... you’re asking for problems using Comp 995-16 springs and not machining the steps down on the heads to fit the springs.

All the spring specs are listed assuming that both inner/outer springs will be sitting even with each other on the bottom.

This is just basic head prep-101.

If you look in the Comp catalog in the SB Mopar section for listings where the 995-16 is the recommended choice...... you’ll see there is a footnote by the part number.
That footnote is “requires machining on cylinder heads”.

I don’t know if they still offer them or not, but as was mentioned......the Hughes 1111 dual spring was meant to be a no machining req’d drop in.
